Kim Long is Named Assistant Vice President
of Uwharrie Capital Corp

Monday, March 3rd 2008 - Albemarle, NC - Roger Dick, President and Chief Executive Officer of Uwharrie Capital Corp, is pleased to announce that Kim Long has been named Assistant Vice President at the February meeting of the Board of Directors.

Kim is a native of Albemarle, and a graduate of Albemarle High School. She received her Diploma in Secretarial Science from Kings College in 1983, obtained the Certified Professional Secretaries designation through Professional Secretaries International in 1995, and in 2005, received her Certificate in Business Administration with Specialization in Human Resources from Central Piedmont Community College.

She began her financial services career with Strategic Investment Group in 1998, before moving to the Human Resources area in 2004 as Human Resources Administrator, where she is primarily responsible for payroll and benefits administration for the Corporation.

Kim and her husband, Darrell, make their home in the Oakboro area. They have two children, Whitney, age 20, a student at UNCC, and Blaine, age 10, a 5th grader at Running Creek School.
