Bob Bratton Joins Uwharrie Capital Corp
as Chief Financial Officer

Wednesday, November 19th 2008 - Albemarle, NC - Roger Dick, President and Chief Executive Officer of Uwharrie Capital Corp, announced this week that Robert O. Bratton (Bob), recently joined Uwharrie Capital Corp in the role of Chief Financial Officer.

Bob is a well-respected banking executive whose background includes over 30 years of executive level management of finance and accounting, operations, technology, human resources and various other roles.

Mr. Dick commented, “We are extremely pleased that this remarkable individual has joined our team. Bob brings significant accomplishments, experience and most importantly a passion for the financial services business.”

Bob received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. On joining Uwharrie Capital Corp, Bob commented. “It is a pleasure to affiliate with a company whose focus and passion is to serve the individuals and businesses of our communities.”

Bob is an active member of the Cabarrus County community, serving Cabarrus College of Health Sciences as former Chair and Board member. He currently serves on the boards of CMC Northeast Medical Foundation and the Cannon School, where he was a former chair.

He is a member of First Presbyterian Church where he Chairs the Foundation and is a board member. Bob has also recently served as a board member of Cabarrus Bank & Trust, banking subsidiary of Uwharrie Capital Corp. He and his wife, Gail, along with their four children, Angela, Stewart, Rob and Betsy, reside in Cabarrus County.
